Recently spotted undergoing winter testing in Europe, a camouflaged prototype has been giving us clues about the changes coming to Jeep's most compact offering. While the vehicle is wrapped in camouflage with Jeep branding, obscuring the finer details, a few glimpses through narrow openings suggest that the distinctive split LED headlights and air intakes are staying put. The overall silhouette of the Avenger is likely to remain familiar, but we can anticipate some minor tweaks to the protective plastic cladding. At the rear, the prototype doesn't seem to be sporting any redesigned panels, though this could certainly change as we get closer to the official launch. Despite the concealment, it still appears that the Avenger will retain its free-standing infotainment display, positioned independently from the digital instrument cluster. However, the sheer effort to hide everything suggests that some significant interior upgrades are on the horizon.
It remains to be seen if Jeep will opt for softer, more premium materials to replace the hard plastics found in the current model, particularly in areas that drivers frequently touch. We also anticipate an update to the vehicle's equipment, likely incorporating the latest connectivity and safety technologies from Stellantis's extensive parts catalog. This is a point that could spark debate: are these technological advancements enough to compete with rivals, or will Jeep need to go further?
On the mechanical front, it's still a bit early for definitive details, but there are no indications of a radical overhaul. The current Avenger lineup already boasts internal combustion, mild-hybrid, and fully electric options, and this diverse offering is expected to continue.
